Monday... 2 weeks till duathalon

well it was raining this morning on and off, however we decided to walk to daycare anyway. Just popped the rain cover on the pram and Ethans raincoat in as well. Rain started about halfway to the dairy just very lightly so kept going and stopped at the shops to put the raincoat on. Ethan loved wearing his thomas raincoat and Lightning McQueen gumboots. headed off down the hill opposite View Road to bottom the though the trees (we have discovered a shortcut though the back of some factories) .
or the walk home the rain had really set in, however under the trees I stopped and took off my jacket (polarfleece so wasnt actually keeping me dry anyway) and just walked in the nice cool rain. From the dairy I ran on and off about a third of way back. Felt pretty good... but I really need a hot shower now... bye

The wish list

for now... Im off to go get a seat cushion for the bike... one of those nice jelly ones. I know maybe im soft but I want to keep at this whole biking thing.
Id also love a kids trailer... so that I could get out and about with Tyler. I do have a bike seat I could put him in but seriously not confident enough to use it.
One day... I would also like to get my own bike... A womans one... I find johns is just that bit big for me in the reach. but well that is just going to have to wait

Ok just to get yu all upto date...

This all kinda started a month or so ago, was on facebook and checking out my darling biddys photos of some mud run thing she did, decided to see if I could find out more about it so usuing clue from pictures found the website http://www.toughguyandgal.co.nz/ which is what she had done, checked out the videos and thought HELL YEAH!!! looks awesome but OMG I'm so unfit. Looked at the dates decided the furthest one away (6 months from then) and decided yep Im going to do this. Mentioned it to a friend later that night, and talked her into it too, both figured it was a good goal to work towards so here we are....
Started going walking, just locally round the park, down to daycare etc. we have then decided to do the SPARC REAL women duathalon (6 weeks away, down to 2 weeks now) Got onto Johns bike and have been getting used to it, and also walking. Also got myself a cross trainer which is in Ethans room which on the days he is at daycare when TJ goes down for his morning nap I jump on adn do a bit. My fitness has dramatically inproved over the last 4 weeks. At the stat 5 mins on cross trainer was about my limit, Last time i was on (havent had time this week... I know slack) but anyway last time I did 10KM in 28 minutes. and it felt hard but surviveable.
Today I did the longest ride I have ever done... 9km... (which isnt actually that huge, but a big deal for me) took me 26minutes, went aling upperharbour drive heading west, round the roundabout and back to the car which was parked at the start. It was hard... but I did it!!! I stopped twice to have a drink, only for a minute each time though, not very good at the drinking while riding yet.

What am I doing here???

Hmmm mind blank... I know i want to write something... dont care if nobody ever reads it, this is just more of something I can look back on and track my progress...
Hers goes... I'm Fat... no other word for it, It snuck up on me a while back and while I have tried to ignore it, in the hope that it might get bored and go away, but that hasn't worked. Neither has any of my attempts at gym etc so instead I have decided I not going to worry about the whole trying to loose weight thing, instead I'm just going to focus on getting fitter, being healthier and I'm going to do this by being more active. And this my friends is my journey... (sounds very cliche doesn't it? Oh well cant be helped... )
